COMPREHENSIVE DENTAL CARE

first 48–72 Hours

Rest and Recovery

The first few days after impacted tooth surgery are essential for proper healing.

During this time:

  • Rest as much as possible. Avoid strenuous activity
  • Keep your head elevated when lying down
  • Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid very hot or very cold drinks

Mild swelling, slight bleeding, and soreness are normal.

Managing swelling and discomfort

Most patients feel improvement by Day 3. To reduce swelling and discomfort:

  • Apply an ice pack for 20 minutes on / 20 minutes off. Continue icing for the first 48 hours
  • Avoid touching the surgical area.
  • Take prescribed or recommended pain medication
